Happy Birthday to Me!

Wow I'm 28.

Seems like not so long ago I was 23, fresh out of uni, and at my first day of work. Five years down the road, and I'm sitting at the same desk, but in a different office, with a few different faces around me and different wisdoms gained over the years. But still the same Dotz :)

My birthday came and went really quickly (!!!) but was quite different from recent birthdays, as it was full of emotions. Heh. I cried at the last time I would lead worship at the SOLead graduation. I giggled with glee when I predicted (correctly) my cake surprise at Team Prayer! And then I cried again last night when I thought of leaving this family I have come to love so much.

But then... that in itself is part of the reason to move. Not in a sadistic-I-want-to-cause-myself-suffering way, but in a stepping-out-of-the-boat way. In many senses, my ministry has become a safety net for me, a safe harbour that I am comfortable in. And over the past few months, I increasingly feel God challenging me to try something new.

I know (and I hope!) I might come back on staff someday :) but in the meanwhile, I'm treasuring these last few months for all its worth and seeking God on what to do next.

This being my fifth bday on staff, I thought it's also a good time to finally make the move. And so, for all my wonderful readers and friends who have journeyed with me throughout the past few years, please please please continue to journey with me at my new space here. I love you, and I'll see you there!

young wives club

A few months back, a few of us 'young wives' began to meet up once a month for lunch. Just to share how we're doing, and be a support to one another in these first few years of marriage. It's been really great!

Here's some pictures from our April mtg, when we met to BAKE! We made two apple crumbles and a batch of rum & raisin muffins. Mmm... =)

Time for a break

It's been a hectic few weeks with a couple of gigs in a row, on top of planning meetings for the rest of the year. Today was the second of two early morning gigs (must wake up at 5am type...), so this afternoon the 'rest' begins!! I'm looking forward to chilling out in front of the TV with a bag of chips and dabbling on my new-and-upcoming webspace. Yup, I'll be making the move to a new space over the next few months. Quite excited about the change, but it'll be sad to say goodbye to my dear little blog, which has become part of me over the years... But the blogging continues...

Anyway, to share a bit about the move. One main reason is that I am in the midst of moving on to a new phase of life (no I am not pregnant... yet..), and making new discoveries about myself and His leading i the process. Nothing seems certain at the moment, so not sharing details. But it will definitely be a major change, and I'm excited, terrified and sad.

Heh.

Ok I really MUST share more details sometime soon, but first I need to tell some people in person. Heh heh... So *akan datang* :)

That aside, must share that something which really really caught my attention and impressed me and moved me recently was the TV ad by MCYS on "family". I think first Red Shoes, and now Funeral, have both been stellar examples of what it means to connect the message to the heart. I was really wowed... see it for yourself :)
