so sweet... =)

as i mentioned in my last post, been facing some issues recently (nothing to do with marriage...) and this week in particular was a difficult and emotionally and mentally draining one. mel, poor thing, has been on the receiving end of all my angst, hurt and low self esteem. i really really think he's got to be the sweetest and most understanding hubby around! =D haha

anyway tonight when we got back, after a long day, i saw a present on the bed! hee!!! it was EEYORE!!! hee.

when we were dating, i had told him before how eeyore is one of, if not my favourite, cartoon character. i love his droopy ears and melancholic disposition, and the little ribbon on his tail. =) but at that time, he didn't buy for me.

so it was SUCH a nice surprise to see him tonight. i was really touched by the surprise gift, and the obvious thought and effort that went behind it. =) no matter what life feels like for now, i really can give thanks that he is part of my life now. =)

yup yup. so THANK YOU dearie!!!

so apt

been having quite a few 'wrestlings' with God this past week. still not over the hill yet, but i've been greatly blessed. every day He gives me something as an anchor for the day, just enough for each hour.

this morning it was no exception. checking my mail, i came across an ad by Dayspring for their 2008 calendars. This is what was written by Roy Lessin, the co-founder of Dayspring

"God wants you to move through this day with a quiet heart, an inward assurance that he is in control, a peaceful certainty that your life is in his hands, a deep trust in his plans and purposes, and a thankful disposition toward all that he allows. He wants you to put your faith in him, not a timetable. He wants you to wait for him and wait on him. In his perfect way he will put everything together... see to every detail... arrange every circumstance... and order every step to bring to pass what he has for you."

and in my quiet time this morning:

"therefore, my dear brothers (or sister!), stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain." 1 Cor 15: 58

Day 5 - In the afternoon, we travelled out to Hillingdon to meet my friend, Jason. This is a picture of just one of the many beautiful flowers in the garden. So pretty!

Day 8 - We arrived in the Lake District after a 6 hour drive. Beautiful sunset views just took my breath away. Even the picture doesn't do it justice.

Day 9 - Went on a 2-mile farm trail! I loved the chicken coop best. So many chickens, and all so friendly. =)

After the farm visit, we took a cruise down Lake Windermere. This is an artsy shot Mel took of the brilliant sky!

Day 10 - We visited William Wordsworth's (a famous poet) childhood home and also the house where he lived after marriage. (His sister was called Dorothy!) In the latter home, he had a very beautiful small garden.

First time I saw apple trees! =)

We ended our last day with a delicious high tea. By the way, what you see is the average English portion for ONE. Haha... but we shared most meals...

back to reality

yes i'm back!

been back for a while actually. it's just been a mix of joy, sadness and surreal-ity adjusting back to 'normal' life, albeit as a married woman.

happy one month anniversary to us!!! =D

it's been a really cool month. learnt so much about myself and him... good and bad... seen so many wonderful things on our honeymoon, heard so much rich history and stories that i wish i could create a video of my mind... haha... and lots more precious memories that i will always treasure from our first month together.

something's wrong with my webspace where i normally upload my newsletters... =( but at least photobucket still works. =)

i'll be uploading some choice pics of my honeymoon tomorrow.. and maybe some wedding pics by the end of the week!

thanks for being there for us, as we venture into our new life together...
