letting go

the more people i tell, the more certain i am, the more difficult it is to let go, the more i grow...

sigh. life is full of change. but change isn't easy =(

too many things

lots of things weighing on my heart. last night was difficult to sleep as I kept thinking about things. just feel like this is a season of much change, and grappling with letting go as well as knowing WHEN to let go. not letting go for the sake of letting go.

wah that sounds very convoluted. hmmm...

my favourite song!!

from the naturally 7 gig (see previous post) No I didn't record it myself in case you were wondering.

sorry the video is not fantastic but it's the best I found of this song. their live stage presence is really incredible, and the live sound mix is the best I've heard... mel and I were saying, the sound man is at least AS STRESSED as the performers onstage. cos he has to put the reverbs on the right mics at just the right times...

here are the lyrics of the song:

Say You Love Me

[Verse 1]
The ocean rises the
waves now crash cross
the seashore
As the wind blows
The earth, the moon,
flowers bloom as the
rain drops
And the trees grow
No mystery, I can calm the sea
I can fill your soul
Make you whole
With open arms I am here
for you, I´m the air you
breathe
I´m everything

[Chorus]
Say you love me
Tell me that you love me
Say that I´m the one that
you come running to
To hold you through the rain
Say you love me
And there´s no one else above me
Open up your heart to
me I´ll always be
[ Find more Lyrics on www.mp3lyrics.org/AbUP ]
All you´ll ever need
Say you love me

[Verse 2]
I´ll unlock the door to
paradise just follow
If you want to
Take my hand and we’ll fly
away let me show you
That I love you
The candles burn as your
world is turning slowly
Listen closely
Be with me I am here for you forever
And ever

[Chorus]

[Verse 3]
I know you´re out there
Chasing waterfalls (say you love me)
But you can rise above
And show me that you love

[Chorus x2]

I have the DVD to watch, and their latest CD *smirk*

voices only

[i'm a bit lazy so i'm copying and pasting this from another of my blogs =b heh heh]

just came back from a naturally seven concert. it was AWESOME!!! the last time I saw them was when I was in JC =b and that was just one song. this time it was an whole evening of awesome music!

the band does sth called vocal play. kind of like acapella - ie with no instruments except the human voice - but the different is it's not just about cool harmonies, but mimicking of actual instruments, and boy do they sound like the real thing!!! i had to see and hear for myself to believe it man... there was one song where they went without mics, just to show it's the real deal and not any sort of lip syncing. heh

check out his e-guit!

and the bass... words fail me. haha... I just wonder what his mum thought when her son's voice first broke. he's amazing man! WITHOUT an octave pedal mind you... see if you can hear him. btw the drums and everything else you hear - all voice.

really cool right?? i'm really glad we could go for this. money well spent =)

precious times

just came back from a gig at SMU. my task today was to man the video cam, which is actually a lot more tougher than it looks! cos you need to have 100% attention on what's happening on stage, as well as control the zooms and pans with steady hands. but this post isn't about my mediocre video-ing skills.

it's about the gradual realization of how precious the time is. about how important it is to really live in the moment and treasure every minute and every encounter, every person and every conversation. i'm coming to five years on staff, and when I look back at the journey I have gone through, I see a very colourful painting indeed.

RED, ORANGE & YELLOW - for the sunshiny moments when I received words of affirmation, encouragement, and a helping hand.

PINK - for the unforgettable surprise pink party that the FR team threw for me when I finished my staff training!

GREEN - for the security and acceptance I have found in this second family of mine. kind of like a verdant hedge of protection. no doubt God's acceptance is the only one that's 100%, but these friends come pretty close.

PURPLE - for the variety of characters I have gotten to know and work with and quarrel with and laugh with and cry with... purple is such a wide range of colours, going from maroon to violet, and that's very much like this team

BLUE - for the captured moments of time when I have felt truly blessed, very loved, and extremely grateful that God put me here

GREY - for the many heart struggles and pain I have gone through in my journey of learning what it is to be an authentic Christian. for the nights of tears and the agony of feeling misunderstood and unappreciated. for each time I realize that I don't measure up, and it's ok.

BLACK & WHITE - for the decisions that God has helped me make. for the ways in which He has directed my paths - in dating, in marriage, in Snooze, in encouraging my team.

what a rich experience it has been. the Lord is my Shepherd, i shall not be in want. =)
