friends over for dinner

haven't had friends over for a while... tonight have 2 gals coming, haven't seen one for almost a year! haha...

anyway quite pleased with my culinery achievement for tonight. Thanks God nothing burned...

1. sorta-soba noodles - wheat pasta with prawns and peppers in a sweet-spicy sauce.

2. honey mustard-bbq chicken

3. brownie and ice cream

the first 2 are from RachaelRay site - my new fav place to get interesting and easy recipes. the last... er... i have betty crocker to thank =b

they should be arriving anytime soon!

on a more blah note, there's someone who's been very insensitive (not just to me) of late, and i'm thinking of how to handle things. want to speak to the person, but quite scared lah... confrontation is NOT my thing... anyway, food for thought for me *hmmm*

happy fathers' day

my poor blog seems to be petering out... =b but i still want to blog, and i shall, i shall i shall.

heh heh

there's so much to update. hmmm... three main things lah.

~one~

we are eleven months married! just one month to the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY. oh man... time flies so so fast. i have tons to be thankful about for the past 11 months. quite a few people told me that the first year of marriage is the hardest, expect a lot of fights and adjustments etc... and it honestly stressed me out a bit!

but as I look back, it really has been a journey of more joy than pain. yes, we do quarrel now and then, but we haven't had a massive blowout (at least not yet lah. phew) and we both tend to talk things out asap and not keep it all inside or overnight, so I think that helps a lot (good advice from the marriage counsellors!). and of course, God has been a key anchor in keeping us humble before one another - cos pride can be quite a destroyer.

so yes, i'm really happy! love you dearie =)

~two~

i'm leading a new band, called snooze. (check us out at snoozetheband.wordpress.com) it's been an exciting (and stressful) journey of trusting God, learning the ropes of leadership all over again, and planning the program. Recruitment has been no piece of cake, and we're still searching for a drummer!

now i have TWO blogs to look after, so that's a bit challenging. heh

~three~

our church pastor (i used "our" without thinking!!!) shared sth funny with us today. He heard this song on the radio and he shared it with all the daddies in the congregation.

You better shape up,
'cause I need a man
and my heart is set on you.
You better shape up;
you better understand
to my heart I must be true.

Yup, it's from the musical Grease.

too many dads give up on love, on family life, on their kids - too early. but this world needs DADS WHO CARE, dads who will go the extra mile for their wife and kids, dads who really lead and protect their families. God needs men such as these to lead the families of today. So you better shape up! =)

my first church camp

tomorrow morning we leave for Port Dickson for church camp. it's my first camp in my new church so feeling a bit spooked out slash scared slash excited. heh. i really don't know that many people yet, so i'm hoping to make friends. but then again, it's been a tiring past week, and i'm not really up to making small talk and lame jokes too. hmmm...

thank God that mel will be there. we're in this together! =)

on a different note, i'm really psyched that the youth band has a BLOG! check out snoozetheband.wordpress.com! this is a new band that forerunner is launching, and I'm co-leading it with Evon. We're still short of drummer... so if you got people in mind, do let me know!

Anyways the blog was just launched today, so it's still quite bare for now... =b but I look forward to seeing it fill up over the days, weeks, months to come!
